The Bench
“We respect and preserve as much of any original piece as possible.”
William (Wm. C.) Gesswein, second-generation clocksmith, started in his father’s shop and has been servicing the Valley since 1984. He’s joined at the bench by Larry Cooper, past president of NAWCC Chapter #112 — the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors.
The Restoration Journey
Disassemble→Ultrasonic clean→Repair & re-bush→Reassemble→Time out

A tired case, split at the seams, its old glue giving way. Every job starts with an honest look at what’s original, what’s worn, and what it needs — and a free estimate.

The movement is completely disassembled and run through an ultrasonic cleaner. Every wheel, pivot and plate is inspected on the bench before anything goes back together.

Worn bushings are replaced where necessary; the case is repaired, re-glued and clamped true — preserving as much of the original piece as possible.

Reassembled, oiled and timed out — here, a restored Seth Thomas parlor clock. Antiques are supposed to look like antiques — we just make them look and run like well-taken-care-of antiques.

Dials and cases brought back carefully — we respect and preserve as much of any original piece as possible.
In-home service across the Valley — mostly grandfather (hall) clocks and large wall clocks that shouldn’t travel.
Primarily antique, fully restored clocks for sale — and if you’re after something specific, we’ll help you locate it.
For Sale

Detail, from the showroom floor. A moon-phase dial with its original gilt filigree — the kind of piece we’d rather preserve than replace. Antiques are supposed to look like antiques.

Sales are primarily antique, fully restored clocks — and no two are alike. Looking for a particular maker, chime or case? See the full showroom →
